Fall is here...

and Owen is happy as a clam to be back in school. He's finally over the fact that preschoolers, even if they're 4 1/2, can not ride the bus, but reasures us often that he could do it. Aaron and I are excited to see him begin to read and can't believe how old he's acting. Lucas also is pleased to be making the trip to preschool for the drop-off and pick-up. He's learning the ropes and will be all set next year when it's his turn.

Kaila Turns 1!

Kaila celebrated her birthday three times, with the VanDrie's, the Kowalski's and just us! Her pretty feet were painted the weekend before by me and dear friend/aunt, Jamie in preparation of the festivities!

Two recent events, Reeds Lake Run and Bostwick Lake Triathlon had the kids hollering "Go, Daddy Go," "TRI, Daddy TRI!" Little miss Kaila caught on quick and got clapping for all the runners!

Owen's 1st Team

Oh the glory of team sports! Owen has loved playing soccer at the YMCA (with two of his best friends from church) and his first experience left him wanting more and feeling like he was a start. Here's a glimpse of him in action and little brother finding himself in a timeout during the game. Amazing how mom and dad can find a timeout chair anywhere!

Number 2 Turns 2!

Do we dare think the terrible two's are upon us?! Maybe they've already made their appearance but our high energy, independent one is so much fun. Here are birthday photos of Lucas' big day. Each birthday phone call and song sung brought a smitten smile and laughter to our now two-year-old! Owen is also especially fond of HIS new, oh wait, Lucas' new tball set!

To pee or not to pee?

A couple weeks back I spent my Friday having fun with the kids and catching up from a normal week of crazy. It had been just one of those days that was going along so smoothly. I actually was able to make a quick trip to the bathroom without kids hanging at my feet or trying to pry open the door...that's a great day. So with Kaila snacking in her highchair and the boys happily zooming cars on the kitchen floor I made my way to the half bathroom. As I returned just a minute later I stood in complete awe as the boys had taken liberty with the drawers of placemats, dish towels, pot holders, bibs, and the ever so adored lovies. They were litered everywhere. No wonder I hadn't heard much of anything, they picked the "quiet" drawer. So before I said a word and organized the massive pickup game I snapped a couple photos.

Lucas has watched big brother many times as he carefully chooses magnets to properly hang his artwork. Now it was his turn, the problem, maybe too many magnets, no I believe it was a safety issue. Kaila's become really good at swiping papers off the fridge if hung too low so he went for pure security with his masterpiece!
