The Best Beach Day

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day today. The weather was amazing and having a chance to get away and just be a family was precious. After enjoying some yummy beignets at a local cafe for breakfast, Aaron and I took the kids to the beach to search for sand dollars and play in the sand. They had a blast and Aaron and I enjoyed every second watching them. I hope times like this could last longer...

Girls Night

After some quick planning the girls decided to have dinner out to celebrate a couple birthdays and spend some time together. It was a beautiful view with great company!
The guys stayed back with the kids for pizza and cousin Katie helped keep all the little ones smiling. The boys had another busy day and practically put themselves to bed.

A Full Day...

Today was a mix of beach and pool time, shopping, a zoo trip for Owen, a nice evening beach walk for the boys, and of course melting tired kids that sleep once their heads hit the pillow, or in our case pillow pets. The weather has been gusty but otherwise perfect and sunny, great for doing a bit of everything or nothing! Here's a couple highlights of our day. More photos to come soon...

After many travels to Gulf Shores the zoo was new to all. Owen was spoiled by his Aunties, Grandma, and animal lover cousin Kaitlyn who brought him on this special outing. This photo of his adventure was a huge highlight!
Owen telling his cousins "Noo, don't stick your fingers in that hole! The jelly fish, its chemicals will sting you."

SUNday!

Today was beautiful! We woke up to clear skys and although the wind was quite gusty we soaked up the rays and spend the majority of our time outside. The kids are loving the pools, hot tub, lunch on the balcony, and plenty of cousins to pal around with. Kaila loved the pool and didn't mind that it wasn't heated, and lucky for me Aaron didn't seem to mind either! Happy parents are we as nap and bedtime come without a fuss!

A Rare Moment

A quick moments captured (which never happens). We're starting our morning to a great view of the sunny gulf and breakfast made by Konika...delicious!

Pizza Night!

Tonight we made dinner easy and ordered pizza at a local joint while Grandma and Grandpa went out for dinner with friends. Much craziness was had by all vacationers under 4 feet! Notice Bella showing us her tail and Lucas decided he had enough of Auntie Konika's singing.

VanDrie Family Vacation

So we made it...after 17 hours of driving, with minimal stops we're at Seachase, our home away from home for the week! Although, I have to say the weather hasn't exactly greeted us well, but the forcast for the week looks extremely positive for some fun in the sun! Many photos of our days here to come!

Spring Fun!

It's so refreshing to be able to get home from work and still have some warmth and daylight to play with the kiddos outside. Aaron and I had a few moments of pure joy as all three played on "Owen's" playset (soon to be re-named) without even a hint of trouble brewing (although we're certain Lucas will be really good at sand throwing soon). So while dad decided to trim bushes I was promoted to lead swing pusher!

Easter Snap Shots!

'Lil Warrior

Aaron and I made it through the first (of hopefully not many) facial stitches for our little warrior, Lucas. It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt and minutes before the event Aaron did give a firm warning of caution that the coffee table was near. However, as we all know, timing is everything and the pics show Lucas had a ball climbing on Dad's back and legs with Owen but a not so fun of a trip to the med center, which I might add did a marvelous sew job! All and all the evening turned out ok, we made it home to watch MSU win and the police didn't come for Owen (he was worried for just a moment since he was an accomplice).

Much time has past...

I find myself amazed and somewhat disappointed that I have gone so long between posts. I'm obviously finding it difficult to keep up with our blog, but the thought of abandoning it is not really an option I've considered. So instead I've tried to give it an updated look and I promise to continue to keep our family blog up-to-date...even if it happens to be with a few photos or a kid quote of the day.
